A record crowd was in attendance at the Goldenview Farms dispersal with the herd selling into six provinces, 15 states and Australia.

The Canadian Limousin Association shared the following story below from its breed archives.

The Goldenview dispersal was held August 13, 1988, at the farm near High River, Alta. The 104.75 lots on offer grossed $998,350 to average $9,530.

The decision to disperse the Goldenview herd was a difficult one for Jim and Ruth McBride and was precipitated by several continuous years of drought on their dryland farm located just south of Calgary.
