Future livestock producers face off in junior cattle show

Ag in Motion brings something new to visitors at the outdoor farm show with the first-ever Junior Cattle Show and competition.

The Junior Cattle Show, presented by BMO, takes place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Young cattle enthusiasts (ages 6 to 21) compete, preparing their cattle for months before the show to present their animal at their very best at Ag in Motion. Preparation includes feeding regimens, daily grooming and halter-breaking to ensure the animal is comfortable being led in the ring.

Participants demonstrate showmanship techniques and answer questions about their animals, breed, genetics, feeding and care.

The competition is fierce as competitors show off a variety of classes in the ring, all leading to the final championship where judges determine the top performers at Ag in Motion.
