With COVID-19 restrictions lifted by the Saskatchewan Government on July 11, organizers from Ag in Motion and Canadian Cattlemen will host a smaller two-day in-person livestock event on August 20 & 21 at the Ag in Motion site.
“We know how much people want to get together, and we’ve heard from many of our connections in the livestock industry that a small livestock event would be welcome − especially for the junior cattle participants who have missed competing in the ring,” says Rob O’Connor, Ag in Motion show director.
The Ag in Motion Livestock Days in-person event, held in partnership with Canadian Cattlemen, includes junior and jackpot open cattle competitions, cattle dog trials, a tradeshow area, seminars from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, FP Genetics and Discovery Farm, and select equipment displays.

The in-person livestock event is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Ag in Motion site and the location of Discovery Farm in Langham, just northwest of Saskatoon. Cost for the event is $10 per person per day, and parking is available on site. Food trucks from Boryski’s Butcher Block will be in attendance.
“While we couldn’t hold the larger Ag in Motion show this year because the restrictions were lifted too late, we are grateful to be able to host this smaller in-person livestock event to make connections, learn something new and meet up with industry and our Saskatchewan friends again,” O’Connor notes.
O’Connor explains that the safety of guests, exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, suppliers and local communities is of the utmost importance at the in-person Livestock Days. COVID-19 protocols and extra sanitation measures will be followed for this in-person event in accordance with the Saskatchewan health orders of the day.
Entries for the competitions are limited, but may still be available. For those wishing to participate in the competitions, information is available by contacting Tiffany Peters, livestock coordinator, at [email protected].
For more information on the August 20 and 21 in-person Livestock Days event, including a schedule, speakers and event overview, visit the Ag in Motion website. For those who can’t make the in-person event, a digital event day for livestock producers will be held on August 26.
