Original painting "Memories" by Maxine Abraham, acrylic on canvas.

I’ve been visiting with cattle producers from across the Canada over the holidays and had quite a few comments on our December Canadian Cattlemen cover (see artwork above).

It was a new look for the December issue and we were more than happy to showcase artist Maxine Abraham’s work. On a recent business trip to Calgary, I had the privilege of meeting her in person.

She was quite excited to show me her paintings and I could see her passion in every brushstroke. In fact, after showing me her work, she talked me into buying a painting. Although, to be honest, I think I talked myself into it. Afterwards she mentioned that her work has been on the cover of Hereford Digest, which made her very proud, as she grew up on a farm that raised Hereford cattle.
