Shorthorn Association holds leadership conference

The Canadian Junior Shorthorn Association hosted its annual Shorthorn Stars Leadership Conference on February 4 and 5 in Calgary, Alta. 

There were 19 Shorthorn juniors in attendance with four junior representatives from the Canadian Junior Limousin Association. Guest speakers included: 

  • Jessica Radu, Canadian Cattle Young Leaders, Deborah Wilson, TrustBIX, Robert Dixon, Think Shift Inc., Tracy Gardner, Old’s Ag Society, Megan McLeod, McLeod Livestock. 

The conference also included an afternoon tour of Olds College Technology Access Centre from Sean Thompson, livestock production manager and Shorthorn producer. 

The association plans to host a leadership conference again next year with participation of other junior breed associations. Location and dates to be announced.
