A typical EuroTier booth.

There are many great cattle shows to check out in the fall across Canada but if you’re looking for something a little different and want to see cutting-edge technologies in the livestock world, you need to head over to Hanover, Germany, and look at a livestock expo like no other. I had the opportunity to attend EuroTier and EnergyDecentral 2024 and it did not disappoint.

This is a world-leading trade fair showcasing innovations from around the world in the livestock industry and energy sectors. The event, held November 12-15, occurs every two years and alternates with the Agritechnica grain show every other year. Both shows are massive, with EuroTier filling 13 buildings and AgriTechnica 27 buildings. With so much to see, you can wear out a set of boots pretty quickly.

All livestock technology is represented including beef, dairy, sheep, goats, pork and poultry. In fact, poultry and pork have their own buildings. Even if insect or inland shrimp farming piques your interest, there were vendors to answer your questions.

Growing Canada’s beef herd: CCA’s priorities working with new federal government

This is my first column since the federal election. The Canadian Cattle Association works with all elected officials and parliamentarians, regardless…

A total of 2,193 exhibitors from 51 countries presented their latest solutions and technologies for the livestock and renewable energy sectors. The Inhouse Farming, Feed and Food Show celebrated its premiere. Around 120,000 investment-minded trade visitors from 149 countries took advantage of the international industry get-together, which under- pinned its professional leadership role with a focus on animal welfare, sustainability, digitalization and artificial intelligence, as well as over 500 trade events, conferences and industry events. They say that both exhibitors and visitors were highly satisfied, and I couldn’t agree more.

If this is something that piques your interest, circle November 10-13, 2026, on your calendar and head over to EuroTier 2026.
