The Canadian Simmental Association recently hosted Simmental breeders from around the world at several venues in Calgary and central Alberta. The week began with council meetings, technical presentations and panel discussions, and a Simmental sale at the Bohrson Marketing facility that over 1,000 people attended.

During the congress, the 2024 Young Canadian Simmental Association National Show saw a record number of cattle exhibited by over 200 junior exhibitors from across Canada and around the world. The Pomeroy Hotel in Olds was at capacity for the banquet that also hosted a record-setting Friends of Canadian Simmental Foundation auction. George Canyon, sponsored by Lammles, closed the evening.

The Mapletoft family (Little Pipe Stone Ranch) was inducted into the Canadian Simmental Association Hall of Fame. Double Bar D Farms (the Dimler family) and Anchor D Ranch (the Skeels family) were awarded the prestigious WSFF Golden Book award. Well-attended farm tours as well as cultural attractions were also a part of the program throughout the week of Simmental celebrations.
