Winnipeg, Dec. 15 (CNS) – Pulse prices have dropped in
North America and Australia after increased output from Russia
and the European Union, according to UkrAgroConsult. Russia’s
output of pulses increased by about 30 per cent this year, while
the European Union increased pea product this year by more than
500,000 tonnes, to 2.78 million tonnes.
Pulse bids in Western Canada are holding steady, according
to the latest information from the Prairie Ag Hotwire. Laird #1
lentils are sitting at 31 to 36 cents per pound. Crimson x3
lentils are at 14 to 15 cents per pound. Desi #1 chickpeas are
at 27.5 to 28 cents per pound. Yellow peas are sitting steady at
C$5.75 to C$7 per bushel. Pinto beans are at 25.5 to 27 cents
per pound.
