Sept 27 (CNS Canada) – The dry, edible bean harvest in North Dakota is about 60 per cent done, according to the United States Department of Agriculture. That’s on pace with the five-year average of 61 per cent for this time of year. Sixty-one per cent were rated good to excellent, 14 per cent rated poor to very poor.
In Minnesota, the dry bean harvest is about 70 per cent complete, ahead of the five-year average of 65 per cent.
Nebraska beans are estimated to be 58 per cent harvested compared to the 52 per cent normally harvested at this time of year. The crop is rated 69 per cent good to excellent, with 11 per cent rated poor to very poor.

Michigan beans are 29 per cent harvested, about on pace with the average. Forty-four per cent were rated good to excellent. Thirty-one per cent of the crop rates poor to very poor.
Idaho beans are about 87 per cent harvested, compared to the five-year average of 74 per cent for this time of year.
In Mexico, the dry, edible bean harvest has been delayed by heavy rain that has swept through the states of Zacetecas, Durango, Guanajuato and Queretaro.
