Canadian Cattlemen has learned of the sudden passing of Dean Horn “Wet Willy” of Saskatoon, Sask. Horn, a well-known fixture at many cattle shows across Canada including Canadian Western Agribition, ran Wet Willy’s cattle washing services.
He was raised on the family farm near Mildred, where he was involved in 4-H. He graduated from Spiritwood High School in 1994, and then attended Lakeland College in Vermilion to study livestock production. He was a prominent member in the cattle family and different stockyards around the province, always finding a way to work in the cattle industry he loved. He also continued to be an active member of 4-H throughout his adult life as a leader, judge and mentor, as this was his true passion.

Horn was best known for his sense of humour and always making people laugh. Horn’s gift of laughter is what finally found him his true love in life: his wife Denise at the local rodeo in 2012 where he was doing his best clowning around. It was love at first sight for Horn and he worked hard to convince Denise they were meant to be. He won her over and they were married in July 2015. No matter what Dean was involved in, he gave it his all. Young at heart, he made everyone laugh until they cried and cared for everyone he met.
Horn leaves behind his wife, Denise, and her daughters Nikki, Amber and Miranda; his parents, Joe and Isabelle Horn; and many family members and friends.
Dean, you hold a special place in our hearts and this picture says it all. A smile and twinkle in your eye that we will miss. Rest in peace, my friend. Condolences to Dean’s loved ones from all of us at Canadian Cattlemen.
