Livestock producers and exhibitors from across Western Canada came out to Ag in Motion’s In-Person Livestock Days to check out livestock exhibits, stock dog trials and cattle shows to name a few of the goings-on. The in-person event was held Aug. 20 and 21 at Langham, Sask. Both days were jam-packed with seminars and demos. One of the highlights was a weight-guessing competition put on by Saskatchewan Ag. Producers with keen eyes had to put their skills together on a group of beef heifers and hay bales to see who was the closest to the actual weights. As many producers realized, looks can be deceiving.
As one of the few in-person events held this summer, exhibitors and attendees enjoyed the time together, with new products and ideas being showcased. The stock dog trials were a big hit. Dog trials were run on foot the first day. The second day included handlers on horseback working together with the stock dog to make a winning run. Overall, a well-run event, with plans for next year already underway. Results from the junior and jackpot livestock show will be in our October column.
