For anybody looking at the South Devon breed there is news on that front.

The Canadian South Devon Association had their annual meeting in Hanna, Alta., last fall after a hiatus. After doing a great job as vice-president, Bill Weir of Carstairs, Alta., has decided to take a well-deserved retirement.

In his place is an up-and-coming South Devon breeder, Noah Olson of Medstead, Sask. Olson is just getting into the breed and will have some great ideas to help the breed move forward into the future.

In other South Devon news, congratulations to Curtis Hlusek on having Grand Champion South Devon steer at the Williams Lake and District 4-H Show and Sale. Not to be outdone by her brother, Linda Hlusek had both Reserve Champion cow- calf pair and heifer calf, all South Devon, of course.
