Bohrson Marketing had another successful 50K for the Future scholarship program as part of their New Year’s Resolution sale. In the first round over 60 applicants submitted essays answering the question: “Who is your role model and how do they inspire you to be successful in the future?”

Out of the initial go-round eight youth were selected, then had in-person interviews with a panel of five judges.

The program is for youth aged 15 to 25, either pursuing secondary education or staying at home building their own herd. Both categories were valued at $25,000 either as a sales credit or scholarship.

Growing Canada’s beef herd: CCA’s priorities working with new federal government

This is my first column since the federal election. The Canadian Cattle Association works with all elected officials and parliamentarians, regardless…

The “build your herd” category, sponsored by Davis Rairdan International, saw four winners walk away with a sales credit towards selected Bohrson Marketing sales in 2023. This year’s winners included: Chelsie Christison of Lloydminster, Alta. ($10,000), Amanda Steffler of Onoway, Alta. ($7,500), Reese Rusenstrom of Bristol, Que. ($5,000) and Trinity Martin of Stettler, Alta. ($2,500).

The winners in the scholarship category, sponsored by Alta Genetics, included Olivia Woytiuk of Shell Lake, Sask. ($10,000), Cade Cruikshank of Brandon, Man. ($7,500), Jordan Rogers of Drayton Valley, Alta. ($5,000) and Meaghan Heppner of Rocky View County, Alta. ($2,500).

There were many other sponsors that came together to support youth in this very worthwhile endeavour including our own Canadian Cattlemen magazine. Congratulations to all the winners!
