WINNIPEG, May 30 (MarketsFarm) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

  • Alberta re-elected the United Conservative Party to a second term on Monday, with the Danielle Smith-led party leading in 49 ridings and the opposition-New Democratic Party ahead in 38.

  • Out-of-control wildfires near Halifax continued Tuesday, with hot and windy conditions creating challenges for firefighters, according to reports. The fires have already burned hundreds of buildings and forced the mandatory evacuation of thousands of homes in suburban communities north of the city. No injuries have been reported yet.

  • Ukrainian drones reportedly hit targets in wealthy districts of Moscow on Tuesday, marking an escalation of conflict that has been largely contained to Ukraine so far. Meanwhile, Russia continued to target Kyiv with drones, although Ukraine claims its anti-missile defenses continued to intercept the attacks.
