Olivia Woytiuk has joined the Canadian Simmental Association staff as its summer intern. Woytiuk will be working with Simmental breeders across Canada to assist with the Legacy Media Project to preserve the breed’s history. She will also be archiving and cataloguing some of the historical pictures in the office.
Woytiuk’s family runs Crossroad Farms near Shell Lake, Sask., and growing up she was part of the Young Canadian Simmental Association and 4-H programs. After playing college softball for three years across the U.S., she joined the South Dakota State University livestock judging team in her senior year, graduating in May. With a deep-rooted passion for the livestock industry and hands-on experience in agriculture across Canada and the U.S., she’s excited to bring her knowledge and creativity into the social media space to help promote the values and vision of the Canadian Simmental Association.
