– Former Prime Minister Jean Chretien calls U.S. President Donald Trump “unspeakable” in his new book and says his rise to the presidency signals the “true end of the American Empire”. Chretien, who retired from politics in 2003, has published a new book of anecdotes called “My Stories, My Times.”
– About 100 people from the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation near Prince George, B.C., are allowed to return home today following a natural gas explosion. The fireball from the explosion on an Enbridge natural gas pipeline about 15 kilometers northeast of Prince George could be seen from kilometres away. There were no injuries and no damage other than the pipeline. It is not yet clear what caused the explosion.
