WINNIPEG, Apr. 18 (CNS Canada) – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Monday, April 18.
– CBOT corn futures finished one to three cents higher on Monday, with the May contract at US$3.8100 per bushel. Hot weather conditions in Brazil could cut into production prospects while excess rain in Argentina was hampering harvest efforts.
– Strategie Grains has increased its forecast for wheat use in livestock feed in the EU. The group has bumped up its estimate for 2016/17 by 1.4 million tonnes. The crop is currently at the pollination stage.

– Weather Trends International says the dry weather in Brazil could drastically impact that country’s second corn crop.
– According to Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture, the country has exported 29.4 million tonnes of grain up to April 13 of this year.
– Reports out of India suggest the country’s grain stocks could be significantly lower than expected. Some outlets say 5 to 6 million tonnes of wheat is unaccounted for in Northern India’s Punjab region which analysts believe could elevate wheat prices in the country. India is the world’s second largest producer of wheat as well as its second largest consumer.
– Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$210 to C$215 per tonne range as of April 15, which was up C$1 to $2 as the week before, according to provincial reports. Feed wheat prices were in the C$230 to C$240 range, which saw both the top end and bottom end expand from the previous week.
