WINNIPEG, Nov. 29 (CNS Canada) – Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were down on Tuesday, with some of the weakness tied to declines in crude oil.
In other feed grain news, Alberta Barley is looking to raise its checkoff to C$1.20 per tonne, from the current level of C$1.00. The proposed change will be voted on at the December 8 annual meeting.
Avian flu outbreaks continue to spread, with Japan now confirming fresh cases that have resulted in the culling of 330,000 chickens and ducks.

Kazakhstan barley exports are running at their slowest pace in three years, according to a report from UkrAgroConsult. The country exported 28,500 tonnes of barley in September 2016, well below the 68,600 tonnes moved during the same month a year ago.
Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$170 to C$175 per tonne range as of November 25, which was relatively steady compared to the previous week, according to the latest pricing information from the provincial government. Top end feed wheat prices were also steady, at C$188 to C$192 per tonne in Lethbridge.
