WINNIPEG, Jan. 25 (CNS Canada) – CORN futures in Chicago
ended three cents per bushel higher on Wednesday, on signs of
demand for US supplies. South Africa has accepted a 1.3 million
tonne shipment of GMO corn from the US.
Feed wheat bids in Saskatchewan fell 60 cents overnight.
According to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire, prices are between
C$4.00-C$4.80 a bushel. Prices also slipped in Manitoba by 35
cents. They are now listed at C$4.31-$4.40 a bushel.

According to a report on grainboard.ru, officials from both
countries met recently to discuss increasing shipments of grain,
meat and dairy products. Russia’s minister of agriculture,
Alexander Tkachev, said last year the two countries increased
trade in agricultural products by almost 50 per cent.
Grain stocks in Kazakhstan are on the rise. According to
the government’s statistics, the country had 14.82 million
tonnes of cereals and pulses on January 1. That is 7.4 per cent
more than in 2016. Barley stocks in Kazakhstan were estimated to
be 25 per cent higher as well.
Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of
Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$160 to C$170 per tonne range
as of January 19, according to the latest pricing information
from the provincial government. That is slightly higher than
last week. Feed wheat prices were C$180-$185, which was roughly
C$2 weaker than the previous week.
