Winnipeg – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian and world feed grains markets on Friday, March 24.
Oat prices in Saskatchewan fell four cents overnight in the latest Prairie Ag Hotwire Report. They are currently listed at C$2.52-$2.69 a bushel.
Feed wheat prices in Saskatchewan are holding steady in a range of C$3.30-$4.70 per bushel.
According to a report in Pembina Valley Online, CN Rail is on a record pace grain moving pace this year. CN’s Director of Grain Marketing David Przednowek told the publication they moved 5,700 cars just two weeks ago. That compares to the average number at that time of just 4,000 cars.

The quality of winter barley in France appears to be worsening. A report by FranceAgriMer says the amount of barley rated as good or excellent has fallen from 91 percent two weeks ago to 85 percent in the most recent estimate.
Chicago Board of Trade corn futures ticked slightly lower in narrow trade on Friday. Some traders took profits before the weekend while pressure was also felt by reports that Brazil won’t use as much corn this year for livestock feed.
Feed wheat bids in the key cattle feeding area of
Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$178 to C$185 per tonne range
as of March 17, which was three to five dollars higher compared to the previous week, according to the latest pricing information from the provincial government. Feed barley prices were steady to up three dollars, at C$155 to C$165 per tonne in Lethbridge.
