WINNIPEG, April 28 (CNS Canada) – Global stocks of grain are expected to fall less than previously projected, according to data from the International Grains Council.
The IGC expects stocks in 2017/18 to reach 491 million tonnes.
Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade closed about one to four cents per bushel lower on Friday.
As of March, Japan has imported Chinese forage corn, for the first time in about seven years, reports said on Friday.
Feed barley spot prices are hovering around C$2.50 to C$3.48 per bushel in Western Canada, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire on Friday. That compares with last year’s estimated 480 million tonnes.
Feed wheat spot prices are about C$3.00 to C$5.06 per bushel in Western Canada, Prairie Ag Hotwire said.
