Winnipeg, April 21 – The Canadian dollar was basically unchanged
against its US counterpart at midday on Easter Monday, as a lack of
domestic data kept prices steady in a thin marketplace.

Gold dipped marginally while bond markets were up slightly.

Despite a number of geopolitical events over the weekend,
liquidity is lacking, said an analyst.

At 11:50 CDT Monday, the Canadian dollar was trading at US$0.9081
or US$1.1012, which compares with Thursday’s North American close of
US$0.9080, or US$=$1.1013.

The market was closed for Good Friday on Friday.

At 11:50 CDT Monday, the Toronto Stock Exchange was down 30.89
points to sit at 14,469.50.
