Glacier FarmMedia – All of Canada, aside from Yukon and parts of the Northwest Territories are expected to see warmer than normal temperatures over the next three months, according to the latest long-range seasonal forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada, released Feb. 28.
The government agency called for a 40 to 60 per cent chance of above normal temperatures from March through May across the three Prairie provinces, with an even greater chance of warmer temperatures in Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
Precipitation is expected to be normal across most of the country during the period, aside from northern regions of Ontario, Quebec and Labrador where the forecast calls for above normal precipitation and most of Nova Scotia which could see levels come in below normal.
