WINNIPEG, Dec. 16 (CNS Canada) – European barley exports are running well behind the year ago pace, with the 1.88 million tonnes exported to date about 65 per cent off the 2015/16 pace, according to reports.
Soft wheat exports, at 11.13 million tonnes as of December 13 were up slightly from the 11.02 million sold during the same timeframe a year ago. However, the EU has adjusted how it reports grain imports and exports, and warns that revisions are likely in subsequent reports.
Ukraine has exported 20.06 million tonnes of grain during the 2016/17 marketing year-to-date, according to the country’s agriculture ministry. That’s up by 880,000 tonnes from the same point a year ago.
