WINNIPEG, Jan. 9 (CNS Canada) – Feed wheat prices in
Manitoba have climbed 12 cents since Friday, January 6. Bids are
now going for C$4.67 per bushel, according to the Prairie Ag
Hotwire.
Saskatchewan feed barley bids are down 25 cents since last
week. Prices are listed at C$2.34-$3.00 per bushel.
The world seems to be chewing through more wheat these
days. According to numbers from the International Grains
Council, annual global consumption rose 1.8 percent in 2016.

from the provincial government. Feed wheat prices were somewhat
higher, coming in at approximately C$185 per tonne.
CORN futures in Chicago ended two cents higher on Monday.
Large funds were active buyers today as they rebalanced
positions ahead of Thursday’s USDA report. There are ideas the
USDA will slash its estimate for the upcoming 2016 corn harvest.
Domestic and world stockpiles are also expected to be slightly
lower than initially expected.
Piles of wet corn in the Midwest are starting to sprout in
certain areas, according to a report by The US Grains Council.
