Feed grains: Feed wheat, barley may skip spring strength

WINNIPEG, March 30 (CNS Canada) – Analysts say the Canadian feed wheat market may not see a seasonal spring rally this year, as lower cattle numbers and high supplies weigh on values.

Chicago Board of Trade corn futures were slightly weaker in early activity on Thursday, ahead of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Prospective Plantings report on Friday, March 31.

Feed barley spot prices are hovering around C$2.30 to C$3.44 per bushel in Western Canada, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire on Thursday.

Feed wheat spot prices are hovering around C$3.30 to C$5.03 per bushel in Western Canada, Prairie Ag Hotwire said.
