WINNIPEG, March 3 (CNS Canada) – Spring barley seedings in France were 32 per cent complete as of Monday, February 27, according to a report from FranceAgriMer on Friday. The planting pace compares with the previous year when only 11 per cent of the crop was in the ground by this time.
Zimbabwe’s government will purchase US$140 million worth of corn from local farmers in order to expand its strategic reserve, according to the country’s agriculture minister. The country is recovering from drought and an armyworm infestation, with production forecast to be up this year.
