WINNIPEG, Nov. 4 (CNS Canada) – The release of the USDA’s next supply/demand report on November 9 should provide some nearby direction for the grain markets, including Canada’s feed grain market.

Pre-report expectations peg the US corn crop at anywhere from 14.4 billion to 15.4 billion bushels, which would compare with the October estimate of 15.06 billion. Any surprises in the data have the potential to swing the corn market, which would also cause some spillover activity in Canadian barley and feed wheat.

Top end feed barley bids in Manitoba and Saskatchewan have shown some modest strength over the past week, according to Prairie Ag Hotwire data showing bids as high as C$3.50 per bushel in Manitoba and C$3.68 per bushel in Alberta. Saskatchewan bids, meanwhile, have edged down to top out at C$3.00 per bushel.
