Winnipeg – Following are a few highlights in the Canadian
and world feed grains markets on Monday, March 20.
Oat prices in Saskatchewan were up one penny in the latest
Prairie Ag Hotwire Report. They are currently listed at C$2.54-
$2.72 a bushel.
According to the latest export estimates from Ag Canada,
forecasted barley exports in 2017/18 slipped slightly in the
March report from 1.975 million tonnes in February to 1.875
million in March. Forecasted domestic usage weakened, dropping
from 6.600 tonnes in February to 6.365 tonnes in March.
Chicago Board of Trade corn futures were two to four cents
weaker on Monday, as the spread of supplies from South America
cut into US exports.
Feed wheat bids in the key cattle feeding area of
Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$178 to C$185 per tonne range
as of March 17, which was three to five dollars higher compared
to the previous week, according to the latest pricing
information from the provincial government. Feed barley prices
were steady to up three dollars, at C$155 to C$165 per tonne in
Lethbridge.
