WINNIPEG, April 27 (CNS Canada) – In its weekly export sales highlights, the United States Department of Agriculture said corn sales totaled 987,900 metric tonnes for 2016/2017, up 31 per cent from the previous week and 18 per cent from the prior four-week average, for the week ending April 20.
Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade closed about two to three cents per bushel higher on Thursday.
South Africa’s maize crop is expected to be 87 per cent above year-ago levels, reports said on Thursday. Last year the country saw significant drought, which hurt domestic production.
Feed barley spot prices are hovering around C$2.50 to C$3.48 per bushel in Western Canada, according to data from Prairie Ag Hotwire on Thursday.
Feed wheat spot prices are about C$3.00 to C$5.06 per bushel in Western Canada, Prairie Ag Hotwire said.
