WINNIPEG, April 11 (CNS Canada) – World corn ending stocks for the current 2016/17 marketing year are now forecast at 223 million tonnes by the USDA, a 2.3 million tonne increase from the March estimate.
World wheat carryout was also revised higher by the USDA, to 252.3 million tonnes.
The USDA data released today also included upward revisions to South American corn production.
Chicago Board of Trade corn futures held reasonably steady on Tuesday, despite the rising world grain stocks.
Feed barley bids in the key cattle feeding area of Lethbridge, Alberta were in the C$160 to C$165 per tonne range as of April 7, which were down slightly compared to the previous week, according to the latest pricing information from the provincial government. Top end feed wheat prices were steady, at C$180 to C$185 per tonne in Lethbridge.
