– Canadian health officials are disputing China’s claim that the country’s first discovered case of the Omicron COVID-19 variant was linked to mail from Toronto. Chinese health authorities said on Monday that a case of Omicron in Beijing may have spread from a package received from Canada and routed through the United States. “While mail may be contaminated, the risk of COVID-19 infection when handling paper mail or cardboard packages, including international mail, is extremely low,” the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) said in an emailed statement. “We know that the virus is most frequently transmitted when people are in close contact with others who are infected with the virus (either with or without symptoms).”

Activision, which has made hit games including Candy Crush and Call of Duty, has had recent allegations of unequal pay and sexual misconduct within the company. The deal would allow Microsoft to expand its reach in mobile gaming.
