– A decision on the boardroom battle between Edward Rogers and Rogers Communications Inc. will be brought down on Friday afternoon, British Columbia Supreme Court judge Shelley Fitzpatrick said on Monday. Rogers claimed that as chairman of a family-owned trust, he had the right to choose his own board of directors for the company. However, his mother Loretta Rogers and two sisters Melinda Rogers-Hixon and Martha Rogers believe his board is illegitimate. Edward Rogers is seeking a court order that would accept his new board.

– More than 100 world leaders pledged to end deforestation at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland on Monday. The joint statement was supported by leaders of Brazil, Indonesia and Congo which account for 85 per cent of the world’s forests. The Glasgow Leaders’ Declaration on Forest and Land Use will cover forests totalling more than 33.6 million square kilometres.
– Air Canada reported on Tuesday a loss of C$640 million in the third quarter, the airline announced. This was despite Air Canada reporting revenue totalling C$2.1 billion, up C$757 million from the third quarter of 2020. While seat capacity will increase in the fourth quarter compared to that from 2020, it will still be 47 per cent lower than in 2019.
