Joe and Emma Hasson have been inducted into the Canadian Hereford Association Memorial Scroll. In 1975, Joe and Emma, along with their son Dave, built a polled Hereford herd under the name Gold-Bar Livestock. Through their annual production sale, they sold cattle to every province in Canada except Newfoundland. Gold-Bar cattle and semen also reached almost every U.S. state, and genetics were sold to Argentina, Brazil, Australia, Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. In 1984, Gereli Gold-Bar Rifle 67K 306R sold for a record $200,000 to Lone West Investments. This record remains today. Gold-Bar Polled Herefords won Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor Awards at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 19 out of 21 years — another record of theirs that still holds today.
