In one of the “Systems and Components” pavilions at Agritechnica, mechanics completely dismantle a John Deere tractor during the course of the week to highlight the fact there are roughly 10,000 parts in a typical farm tractor, many of them come from a variety of suppliers who have displays at the show.

Grainews met with Versatile’s Andrew Winkels and toured the company’s display at Agritechnica. Winkels describes how the company is making some modifications to its tractors in order to gain a foothold in the Western European equipment market for the first time.

A research team has developed a completely autonomous system that scouts weed locations in a field. It then automatically sends out Robotic tractors to spray or cultivate them.
