Democrats contend that Trump incited an insurrection to prevent Congress from confirming former Vice-President Joe Biden as the next president. The articles of impeachment are likely to pass the House and then moves to the Senate.

– The Canadian government announced on Tuesday it will keep the Canada-U.S. border closed to non-essential traffic until Feb. 21. Since March, land crossings have remained restricted to all but commercial traffic. Anyone who does travel outside of Canada is required to self-isolate for 14 days upon return. Beginning last week, anyone boarding a flight to Canada must present a negative COVID-19 test.
– Israel launched about 20 aerial attacks against targets in eastern Syria that killed 57 soldiers and wounding 37 more on Wednesday. The targets reportedly belonged to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement and the Fatimid Brigade. Reports stated the U.S. provided Israel with key intelligence to carry out the raids.
