WINNIPEG, Sept. 7 (MarketsFarm) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– Demonstrations outside the Pakistan Embassy in Afghanistan were dispersed by the Taliban firing into the air on Tuesday, marking the second protest broken up by gunfire over the past week. A number of journalists at the protest were arrested.

– El Salvador has become the first country in the world to adopt bitcoin as legal tender. President Nayib Bukele pushed for the adoption of the cryptocurrency, claiming it will help the country save US$400 million a year while also providing access to financial services to people with no bank account. Critics claim the move may fuel money laundering in the Central American country.
