‘From the middle of July to the end of November each year the grass cattle rancher gathers his beef harvest. It is the so-called fall marketing season, commencing with fat dry cows and ending with steers which sometimes have had a little cover-cropping. The bulk the offerings, by past experience, has been concentrated in the month of October.’
