Inaugural Canadian Speckle Park Commercial Cattlemen of the Year

Purely Purebred with Mike Millar: News about you from the April 2020 issue of Canadian Cattlemen

The Canadian Speckle Park Association announced its Commercial Cattlemen of the Year at Agribition 2019. Fred Courtney of Delia, Alta., claimed the inaugural honour.

Courtney’s herd consists of 300 Red and Red-Baldie mother cows. He has run a Speckle Park bull for the last 20 years. Every year Courtney supplies 200-250 Speckle Park-cross calves to the Speckle Park Influence sale in Ponoka. At 86 years young, he has no intentions of slowing down.

Congratulations, Fred, on your well-deserved accomplishment.
